Entrance attendant Brenda Wardell with Patient Experience at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for July.
Wardell’s cheerful and helpful attitude at the entrance to JMH makes a positive impression on visitors each day. She takes pride in her work, including wiping down chairs in the waiting room after each patient use when she has a few spare minutes. She remembers who has passed by and is particularly helpful to elderly people who require extra assistance.
“People who walk through our doors aren’t just people to Brenda, they are someone’s family or friend who deserves respect and attention,” the nominator wrote. “If patients come through the door and they are having a bad day, Brenda keeps her patience and politely helps them.”
Wardell has worked for Jacksonville Memorial Hospital since 2020.
