Sheriff asks for public’s help in identifying suspect

The Jersey County Sheriff’s Office has released videos and photographs of a burglary suspect, and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
In a press release the Sheriff’s Office said after responding to a burglary alarm at Bawana’s Bar and Grill in Fieldon on Wednesday, Sept. 27, deputies found evidence of forced entry and stolen items including money.
“Subsequent investigation revealed that a similar burglary occurred in Madison County on Clifton Terrace Road,” the release said. “During the early morning hours of Monday, September 25, 2023, Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies responded to that burglary and obtained video of the suspect.
Any information that might be helpful with the investigation is requested to be submitted to the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office at 618-498-6881 or the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 618-692-6087.
