The Illinois State Police have released more information regarding the Oct 8, accident at mile marker 12, near Hull. at 9:35 p.m.
The accident claimed the lives of Amanda E. Harrison, 43, of Ladonia, Mo. and Angela D. Wood, 59, Payson.
According to the accident report, Steve M. Harrison, 67, Wellsville, Mo. was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country LX eastbound in the west bound lane of I-72. A passenger in the vehicle, Amanda Harrison was a passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harrison’s vehicle sideswiped a 2019 Ford Transit T-150, driven by John J. Wagler, 49, Bloomfield, Iowa. Neither Wagler or a passenger, Dorothy R. Wagler, 43, of Bloomfield, Iowa were injured, nor three teenagers in the vehicle, a 17-year-old female, a 15-year-old female and a 12 year-old female.
After sideswiping the Wagler vehicle, the Harrison vehicle struck a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu driven by James D. Wood, 65, Payson head-on. Wood was transported to an area hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The passenger in his vehicle, Angela D. Wood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harrison was airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries.
Amanda Harrison’s funeral arrangement were handled by Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Mo. and funeral arrangements for Angela Wood are pending at the Niebur Funeral Home.
The accident is still under investigation.
