A family was left homeless in Roodhouse last Thursday when a fire broke out in a camper and spread to a mobile home.
According to reports, an electrical connection between the two vehicles is what caused the fire.
Roodhouse Fire Chief Terry Hopkins said his department was called out to 750 Lorton Ave. at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The report stated that live wires were sparking on the ground. The occupants of the mobile home were renting it and owned the camper.
Hopkins said the mobile home was older and did not have a lot of value but he suspects the fire started with an electrical connection between the camper and the home and spread from there.
The White Hall Fire Department was called in to assist the Roodhouse Department.
