The Bellview Community Church sponsored their 2nd Annual Operation Christmas Child Sunday evening in the Center for American Archeology Gym in Kampsville. Last year 300 boxes were filled. The goal for this year was to double it. Volunteers of all ages came out. Event organizer Michelle Bridges told volunteers “remember as you’re packing don’t think of it as packing boxes, think of it as 600 children are gonna be affected by this as well as their families. Most of the kids who will be receiving these have never even got a gift in their life.” That was just the motivation that group needed because it only took them one hour to fill 600 boxes. The boxes will be shipped out this week all over the country.
