The final day to file to have a name placed on the March 19 primary ballot was Monday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m..
As of the deadline, five candidates had filed for four county board seats, Republicans Jim Sheppard, Lance Kendrick, Joseph Cobb and Derek Ross, along with Democrat Leif Carter all submitted petitions.
Carter and Kendrick are newcomers, each vying for the seat left vacant when Mark Sprague decided not to run.
For state’s attorney, Walker Filbert was the only candidate to file and the same was true for Bryce Gleckler for circuit clerk.
