The Calhoun County Sheriff announced in a press release that an individual was held without bond following an incident in Kampsville.
The Sheriff’s Department stated that on Thursday, Dec. 14, deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance and possible home invasion in progress on High Street in Kampsville.
“Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Zach Hardin responded to the scene and began an investigation. Sergeant Hardin was assisted by Law Enforcement officials from various neighboring agencies, “ the release states. “Subsequent to an investigation, Zachary N Schwalb, age 31, of Baylis, Illinois was arrested for the following offenses: Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery (Two Counts), Criminal Damage to Property (Over $500),Criminal Damage to Property (Less than $500).”
Following Schwalb’s arrest he was booked in the Greene County Jail where he is currently being held without bond after recently being released from Mandatory Supervised Release from the Illinois department of Corrections.
“The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Calhoun Volunteer Ambulance, Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Pleasant Hill Police Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, and the Carrollton Police Department for their assistance during this incident,” the release stated.
