The Calhoun Sheriff’s Office has announced the addition of their newest Deputy Sheriff Austin Phillips.
Deputy Phillips was sworn in with the Calhoun Sheriff’s Office by the Honorable Judge Charles Burch on Friday, Dec. 29.
A native of Greene County, Deputy Phillips attended Illinois College and majored in Communications and History prior to serving as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service.
During the summer of 2023 Deputy Phillips was hired by the Calhoun Sheriff’s Office and attended the Southwestern Illinois Police Academy graduating from the academy on Friday, Dec. 22.
“Deputy Phillips is excited to take his place in the Kingdom of Calhoun, and we are certain is going to make a positive impact in Calhoun,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “Dedicated to safeguarding and protecting the safety, rights and freedoms we enjoy, and to provide care and compassionate service to our citizens.”
