The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that they will be holding a public meeting on Thursday, March 21, to discuss the study regarding the Joe Page Bridge.
The meeting is open for public comment and will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calhoun High School on March 21.
The study is still in Phase I and IDOT said that the purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the project which will include “conceptual corridors for viewing and comment.”
“IDOT, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has initiated the Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Study of the Joe Page Bridge, which carries Illinois 16/100 over the Illinois River to connect Calhoun and Greene counties. The Phase I study will look at options for the rehabilitation or replacement of the existing bridge. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the project, including conceptual corridors for viewing and comment, and obtain public input,” IDOT said in a press release. “Handouts and display boards will be available for public review, as well as information regarding engineering, land acquisition and environmental issues. Representatives from IDOT and the project consultant, Hanson Professional Services Inc., will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The meeting will be held in an open house format. No formal presentation will be made.”
Comment cards will be available during the meeting for those in attendance and are also available on the project website at www.joepagebridge.com.
