• The Perry Association for Community Enrichment (PACE) will serve locally-sourced, fried catfish as the centerpiece of a fundraising dinner at the Perry United Methodist Church at the corner of South and Cross streets on Friday, March 22. The meal includes bread/butter, coleslaw, and baked beans with a dessert and drink. PACE invites locals to enjoy the meal for a free will donation. Carry-outs are available starting at 4:30 pm. PACE will serve meals in the dining room from 5-7 pm.
• The Barry Community Chorus will perform its annual Easter cantata, “God so Loved” by Pepper Choplin, Palm Sunday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Barry United Methodist Church, 720 Perry St in Barry. The cantata tells the Holy Week and Easter story from the perspective of and centering around – Love. Judy Steers will direct, Cindy Piper will accompany. Narrators are Rev. JoAnn Ruff and Jason Washington. Soloists include: Teresa Goetten, Tina Moyer and Larry Stapleton. Babysitting will be provided, and donations to defray expenses will be accepted at the door. • Save the date: A benefit for Raleigh Bess will be held April 27 at the Riverbank. Raleigh is the infant daughter of Brant and Randi Bess. She is also the granddaughter of Nanette Bess and Danny Bess and Rebecca and Prentice Hancock She has been diagnosed with leukemia. The benefit will open at 3 and will include live music, food, 50/50, raffle, silent auction, live auction and more. For more information contact Brittany Craven 217-320-5662.
