The Village of Kampsville held their monthly meeting last Thursday, March 21.
Michelle Berg, representing McCully Heritage Project, was present to share information on their upcoming Mountain Archery Fest which will be held May 17-19. They are expecting a crowd at least 500 over this being the first year it could be a learning process.
They are using local restaurants for food vendors. They would like to use village lots for parking and then shuttle participants to McCully’s. McCully’s offers tent camping but it will also require the use of the Village of Kampsville Campground. The board was in agreement that this would be a huge boost for local income and an event they fully support, and said they would help in any way they can.
Dustin Neese reported that most of the meters have been installed and they are working on finishing up the last of them. Work is still being done on obtaining grants for the water system and a meeting with water maintenance man Dustin Neese is the next step.
Flood buyouts are moving forward on the Fire Department.
Mayor Johnson said “they are currently working with a company on updating the ordinance book” at this time the cost is unknown. It was decided to table until a price was known.
A motion was approved to work up a food truck permit.
In other business, it was approved to make improvements to the town hall windows, door and painting as well as estimates on upgrading the heat and air conditioning.
The Village has sent out several letters to property owners about cleaning up their properties such as cars etc. Some residents are working on getting it taken care of.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m.
