The faculty and staff at Pikeland Community School have selected the students of the month from both pods.
Those nominated and what their nominations said about them were:
Wes Kearns
C-pod: Wes Kearns. His nominating faculty/staff member said the following: “This young man is truly amazing in every sense of the word. He tries his best to do his best in every endeavor whether it be following school rules, doing his homework, playing in P.E., everything. He is never in trouble, he is just a great kid who deserves to be selected as the student of the month.’
CeCe Ruzich
D-pod: CeCe Ruzich. Her faculty/staff member said: “This young lady is one of the most genuine students in Dpod. By genuine, I mean when she asks how you are doing, she really wants to know. If she sees another student hurting or scared, she immediately goes to encourage them. I watched her encourage someone during a competitive event. She could have let her fellow student fail, who was ready to give up and this would be to her advantage, but she did not. She calmed the student down, her competitor came back for her second attempt, and they both finished strong. This kind of selfless compassion for others regardless of personal gain seldom gets noticed. This simple act is what makes my nominee a profile in courage, and precisely why she is being nominated again.”
