The Jersey Community Hospital (JCH) Foundation Resale Shop proudly announces its 15th anniversary celebration, marked by a transformation of its exterior. The milestone serves as a testament to the shop’s commitment to its loyal customers and mission, to support community health by donating shop proceeds to JCH HealthCare.
Due to its tremendous popularity and growth since opening in 2009, the JCH Foundation Resale Shop has relocated to larger locations three times and donated nearly $1,000,000 to JCH HealthCare. By offering a selection of pre-loved items ranging from clothing and accessories to home décor and furniture, it has not only thrived but also deeply ingrained itself in the fabric of the community.
To commemorate this significant achievement, the JCH Foundation Resale Shop, with a Jerseyville Economic Development Council matching funds grant, embarked on a journey to refresh its exterior to better reflect that the building holds a retail store. The upgrades include the addition of a display window, new signage, awnings and updating of the garage doors, aimed at enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the shop.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate 15 years of serving our wonderful community,” said Charity Roth, JCH Foundation Director. “This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our customers, generosity of our donors and the hard work of our volunteers. The shop would not exist without the tireless dedication and selfless commitment of our team of over 75 volunteers led by Resale Shop Coordinator, Sara Giovanelli who joined the team in 2020.”
Roth shared that “When former JCH Foundation Director, Lynn Poglajen, and a few hospital volunteers had the idea of opening a small shop in support of JCH, no one dreamed it would be this successful. I love hearing the volunteers reminisce about their concerns that they would never get enough donations to support an entire shop. To their amazement, the community was very generous and we continue to grow year after year. We are very excited for what the next 15 years could hold. These exterior upgrades will showcase what the Resale Shop has to offer, reflecting our volunteers’ commitment to ensuring an excellent customer experience and amazing financial support for our community’s health services.”
The JCH Foundation Resale Shop team invites the community to join in the celebration and experience the newly refreshed exterior firsthand. Whether browsing the latest arrivals, finding hidden treasures, or simply stopping by to say hello, everyone is welcome to be part of this special occasion.
