Emily Depke, daughter of Daniel and Tamera Depke, all of Hull, was awarded the Pike County Historical Society’s 2024 scholarship.
Students who compete for the scholarship must write an essay about Pike County history. The scholarship is judged by a committee of PCHS members who look at content, the amount of work/research that went into the project and grammer/spelling.
“There are several criteria,” Bob Evans of the Pike County Historical Society, said.
Depke plans to attend the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign to major in neural engineering as a Chancellor’s Scholar.
