The Calhoun Lady Warriors had a comfortable 6-0 lead before rain forced cancellation of the Sectional Semi-final game against Valmeyer Tuesday afternoon in Carrollton, but the night off didn’t benefit Valmeyer in the least as the Lady Warriors went on to win the game 8-0 the following day.
The win set the Lady Warriors up for a rematch – the third of the season, with the Lady Hawks. It would end up to be a pitching duel between Audrey Gilman and Lady Hawk Lauren Flowers and ended with a walk-off home run by Carrollton’s Hannah Uhles in the bottom of the seventh to give Carrollton the win along with the Sectional Championship title with a 1-0 victory over Calhoun.
