Students from the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired visited The Winchester Bowl last week as part one of the school’s Annual Summer Camps. Twenty eight students ages nine through 18 years old participated in the bowling excursion.
“It’s one of the evening activities the camp offers,” ISVI Principal Heather Saats said. “It’s a great way for the kids to get out.” Saats added that camp attendants have chosen to come to Winchester in the past. “They just really love the Winchester Bowl as a facility.”
Both she and Activities Director James Grabel oversaw the bowling event. The two agreed the activity offered the students a great chance for interaction with their peers. “The students also love that small town feeling they get here as well,” Grabel commented. Staats stated that the summer camp is open to students from all over the state.
