The White Hall Lions Club Fourth of July Celebration will take place a little bit prior to the actual date this year. Festivities have been scheduled to take place between June 27-29 this year.
The parade, which kicks off the event, will take place on June 27 at 7 p.m. and while the Lions Club members know it is before the actual 4th of July, it was the only option open to them.
“The carnival basically told us when they could come to the Fourth of July holiday,” White Hall Lions Club Member Lindsey Coultas said. “This was our only option if we wanted to have a carnival.”
The fun begins on June 27 with food available at Greene Elite from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Carnival fires up at 5 p.m. at Lions Park leading up to the parade at 7 p.m.
Following the parade, at Lions Park there will be bingo, food and vendors plus a raffle drawing at 8 p.m.
On June 28, the carnival will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Bingo will be available from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and there will be a raffle drawing at p.m.
On June 29, at 8 a.m. there will be a 5k run starting at Lions Park. This will be followed by cardboard boat races at Custer Park at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. food will be served at Lions Park.
For those who like bingo, the game will begin at 1 p.m. and run until 4 p.m. and then pick up again from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Fireworks will be shot off at dusk and the drawing will immediately follow.
