The Village of Brussels kicked off the long July 4th Weekend on Wednesday, July 3, with a small parade led by Sheriff Bill Heffington. The parade was full of kids wearing their best patriotic attire riding bikes and power wheels or being pulled in wagons by their parents. All smiling and waving as big as they could.
The fun didn’t stop there everyone then headed over to the beautiful park to enjoy snow cones, bounce house, face painting and caricature drawings. Attendees enjoyed entertainment by Silly Jilly and delicious fish sandwiches from the Brussels Sons of the American Legion. “Back in the Saddle” provided musical entertainment, and gorgeous fireworks topped off the night to make for a successful Independence Day Celebration.
