Webster Peach Orchards opened a You-Pick Flower Field this past Saturday with a soft opening for friends and family.
Owners Matt Webster and Julie Kronable were very excited about this new adventure.
“As many others around Calhoun, I grow mixes of flowers around my garden and landscaping. On top of providing pollen for the bees and butterflies, I absolutely love to be able to cut fresh bouquets for our home as well as share them with others,” Julie Kronable stated.
With some time freed up due to all their peaches being frozen out this year, she decided to run with a dream of hers and grow a You-Pick Flower field so she could share that love and experience with our community.
“Thanks to the help of Matt Webster and our families, that dream has become a reality and our first weekend was a success,” Kronable added.
They provide everything needed for people to come enjoy the colorful field of flowers and cut beautiful bouquets to take home with them. A bucket, and snips for cutting, overview of the flower field, plus techniques for choosing and cutting flowers to create a beautiful bouquet. They then wrap your bouquet, give you flower food and provide tips on making your bouquet last longer. There are a variety of flowers including zinnias, celosia, gomphrena, basil, sunflowers and more. Flowers are priced by the stem with everything $1 a stem and sunflowers $2 a stem.
Both Julie and Matt have full-time jobs so the you-pick sessions will have to be scheduled for evenings and weekends.

The flower field is located next to the Self-Serve Farmstand, just north of Reds Landing on North Mississippi River Road in Hamburg.
They will be hosting a You-Pick Flower event Saturday, July 27, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
