Sister Anna Marie Flanigan celebrated her 40th year Jubilee as a member of the congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria, IL. A Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated in the convent chapel on Aug. 11, followed by a reception for the family and friends who attended the special occasion.
Sister Anna is the daughter of Mary Ann and the late Marvin Flanigan of Meppen. She is a 1972 graduate of Calhoun High School and 1976 graduate of SIUE. Since joining the religious order, she has served at several Catholic schools, either as a teacher or principal; and also with campus ministry at St. John’s Catholic Newman Center at U of I in Champaign. She is now working at the Tribunal Office for the Diocese of Peoria.
Family members who attended the celebration in Peoria were: Bill Flanigan, Paula Johnson and Karen and Jeff Spink of Arnold, MO; Al Flanigan of Bridgeton, MO; Kathy and Joe Schulte of Meppen; and Jim and Theresa Johnes and Melanie & Jon Tepen and sons of Batchtown.
