Christopher and Ryan Hembrough completed their Order of the Arrow Ordeal that took place August 16-18 at Camp Illinek between Springfield and Chatham. The Order of the Arrow is an honor society that existed at local Scout camps across the country. The induction ceremony is the first step toward full membership in the Order. During the experience, candidates maintain silence, receive small amounts of food, work on camp improvement projects, and sleep apart from other campers. The entire experience is designed to teach significant values. All candidates for membership must complete the Ordeal.
Christopher and Ryan are members of Troop 113 of south Jacksonville IL. If you would like any information on scouting you can contact Todd Clayton at 217-370-4613.
