Corbin Arnold and Tristin Miller both scored two touchdowns as West Central beat Pleasant Hill 46-20 in a Junior Football League Heavyweight game September 28 in Winchester.
West Central (4-4) will play Saturday at 1:30 against Pittsfield for the consolation league championship at Quincy Notre Dame.
Pleasant Hill led 6-0 after scoring on its first possession of the game. West Central needed just one play to tie the game.
Jackson Little threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Blayne Vortman, and the game was tied at 6.
The Cougars scored two touchdowns in the second and never trailed again.
Little threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Miller, and Arnold scored on a 15-yard run.
Pleasant Hill scored late in the quarter, but West Central led 18-13 at halftime.
Little scored on an 11-yard run in the third quarter, Miller scored the conversion to increase the lead to 25-13.
Miller scored on a 34-yard run and ran for the conversion in the fourth quarter. Arnold scored on a 46-yard run, and Paxton Erikson scored on a 1-yard to close out the scoring the West Central.
Little threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Miller had 130 all-purpose yards and scored two touchdowns. Arnold ran for 91 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Vortman had 70 yards receiving and scored one touchdown, and Erikson scored one touchdown.
Thrice Kirkpatrick had 62-yard punt when West Central was back up to its own 3-yard line.
West Central’s defense forced six turnovers in the game.
Arnold, Emerson Little and Westin Roach each intercepted passes. Vortman, Brock Fuhler and John Marshall recovered fumbles.
