The Roodhouse Police Department and the White Hall Drag-O-Way are gearing up for the annual Halloween Night Trunk or Treat, set to take place Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. around the Roodhouse Square.
“We want to go really big this year,” Roodhouse Police Chief Kyle Robison said. “We are in need of candy donations, which can be dropped off at City Hall.”
Because there is such a huge turnout of kids at this event, the Police Department collects candy donations and goes around supplying those who are participating with candy if they run out of their own.”
Drag-O-Way members will be there in their vintage vehicles all decked out for scary fun.
“We are looking not only for vintage cars, but just regular folks who want to have fun and decorate their trunks,” Robison said. “We will accept businesses, organizations, church groups and people who just want to have a good time to help participate.”
To make it even more enjoyable for all those involved, Robison urges everyone to come in costume.
“As much as the adults like to see the kids dressed up, I think the kids enjoy seeing the grown-ups in costume as well,” Robison said. “Throughout the event, we will be serving up free hot dogs, s’mores and candy. The goal is simple – have fun.”
