A Saturday morning fire in Perry had the North Pike Fire Department and Griggsville Fire Departments busy.
“It was an attic fire,” Jeff Butler, chief of the North Pike Fire Department, said. “We were able to save it.”
The fire had a familiar face as Richard Follis, the man whose house burned Sept. 19 in Fishhook, was moving into the house.
“There is nothing suspicious about the fire at all,” Butler said. “That man just has a dark cloud over him.”
Butler said the Illinois State Fire Marshall investigated the fire, which is normal in a structure fire, and said the cause of the fire, although undetermined, was not suspicious in nature.
