The Lady Warriors were named Super Sectional Champions after beating Norris City in two of three sets on Monday, Nov. 11.
The Warriors beat Norris in two of three sets going 25-21 in the first, 19-25 in the second and 25-23 in the third.
The Lady Warriors were named Sectional champions after beating Nokomis 25-18 and 25-21 on Thursday, Nov. 7. Coach Zipprich said the Warriors serving was on point against Nokomis with Calhoun serving nine aces with only one error.
“They fought hard from the start and it paid off,” Zipprich said. “Overall we played strong and determined all game.”
The girls faced off against Lincolnwood, beating them in two sets, 27-25 and 25-19, to win the Regional Championship game
Calhoun easily defeated Okawville in the first round of sectionals in two sets, 25-9 and 25-4. Sophomore Annie Wilson stepped in for Lelia Schulte and served 15 points in the first set while Lacy Pohlman took over in the second set and served 17 straight points for the Warriors.
The Lady Warriors will play in the IHSA State Semi Finals this Friday, Nov. 15, against Cissna Park at the CEFCU Arena on the Illinois State University campus in Bloomington-Normal at 10:30 a.m.
