The Greenfield Speech Team, coached by Janice Meyer, traveled to Perry on Saturday, Nov. 9 to participate in the IESA state speech contest. They came home with 19 first place medals and two second place red ribbons
“The team has worked very hard memorizing and practicing during recess time and study halls getting ready for this event,” Meyer said. “Their dedication has certainly paid off. We have had a great time working together and performing together.”

Duet; Debra Rynders, Improv Duet; Mayhem Hilyard, Regular Duet; Debra Rynders, Regular Duet; Ava Kinser, Small Group Acting; Leah Lansaw, Small Group Acting; Mara Wood, Small Group Acting; Quinn Rivers, Small Group Acting; Brooklyn Schild, Small Group Acting; Emma Vetter, Small Group Acting; Mayhem Hilyard, Team Improv. Ava Kinser, Team Improv.; Leah Lansaw, Team Improv.; Quinn Rives, Team Improv.; Emma Vetter, Team Improv.; Mara Wood, Team Improv. and Josh Thornton, Impromptu Individual Speaking.
Second Place Red Ribbons went to:
Mara Wood and Emma Vetter for Impromptu Individual Speaking.
A pizza party awards ceremony was held at lunch for the students to recognize the speech team members for their success. Final presentations were held at the First Baptist Church and the Greenfield School Board where select students performed skits.
