The Salvation Army Madison County Corps recently placed a giant red kettle at The Old Bakery Beer Company at 400 Landmarks Blvd. in Alton, IL. The kettle, found tucked away in a storage area and showing years of neglect, has been beautifully restored thanks to the generosity of Freer Auto Body and Arrow Signs. The kettle will remain at Old Bakery throughout the holiday season and all donations will go toward the Red Kettle Campaign.
The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign helps those in our area who are struggling. Last year the campaign provided 615 families with Christmas baskets and over 1000 children with Christmas gifts. Placing a donation in one of the many red kettles helps people in our community by providing food, an opportunity to enjoy the holiday season and hope for the future.
“We’re very grateful for the support of The Old Bakery Beer Company and the many restaurants and businesses who have kettles on their counters,” said Salvation Army Madison County Corps Captain Cassy Grey. “Whether you place a gift in the kettle or volunteer to ring bells, your help is much needed and deeply appreciated.”
