The Calhoun Elementary and Jr. High students and staff were very busy creating a magical experience for all to enjoy. Each wing decorated in a different way. From entering the school into “Christmas Town and the world of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, seeing the Island of Misfit Toys and meeting the abominable snowman. To the Pre K – 2 wing inviting you to Whoville and taking you into the Grinch’s Lair and the Grinch himself even visited on Tuesday afternoon.
Next stop a step back to past, present and future in the 3-5th grade wing and a Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol.”
Finishing up the tour with Junior High wing, taking you “Home Alone” with Freddie, Mrs. Mortlands classroom turtle even getting in on the fun carrying a stuffed tarantula on his shell through the halls.
Perfect choice for Jr. High kids because let’s face it what Junior High kid doesn’t wish that maybe that kind of adventure would be fun.
The hallways were judged on Tuesday afternoon by guest judges. With Pre-K thru Second “Grinch” taking first, third – fifth “ Christmas Carol” second place, Jr. High “Home Alone” third place and the main hall “Rudolph” fourth place.
Each hall was magical and put the Christmas Spirit into everyone that had the chance to experience it.
