In its recent meeting held on December 18, the Western Community Unit School District #12 Board of Education approved several personnel changes.
Alicia Smith, who has served as the Assistant Athletic Director, resigned from her position effective November 20. Michelle Hathaway, a dedicated Paraprofessional at Western Elementary School, also resigned, with her last day being November 22. On the same date, Lori Cohea, a 3rd Grade Teacher at Western Elementary, stepped down from her role.
The board approved the hiring of Catharine Miller as a 3rd Grade Teacher at Western Elementary, effective December 2. Additionally, Justin Sheppard will take over as the new Assistant Athletic Director starting January 6. Barbara Harrison has been hired as a Pre-K Paraprofessional, beginning her duties on December 3.
Lastly, the board accepted the resignation of Brooke Tisinger, an Administrative Assistant at Western Elementary, effective January 24, 2025.
