Pike County has a new supervisor of assessments. Nicole McDonald, was sworn in Thursday, Jan. 2, replacing Cindy Shaw, who resigned effective Dec. 31, 2024.
McDonald, of Pleasant Hill said she received her certifications to be supervision of assessments from the Illinois Department of Revenue and also studied at John Wood Community College.
She said she currently sees no need for change in the office.
“Cindy had done a really good job and that will make it easy for me to slide in,” McDonald said.
When asked what she plans to do with her time, now that she is retired, Shaw said “Anything I want, anytime I want,” but clarified that to say spend more time with her granddaughters and travel.
Approximately 20 people attended the swearing in ceremony in the lower courtroom.
