Reservations are being taken for a no-cost cholesterol and wellness screening at Blessing Health Hannibal on Thursday, April 10.
In addition to the no-cost cholesterol screening the event will include a blood pressure reading, body composition screening and an A1C screening for those with an elevated fasting glucose or known history of diabetes or pre-diabetes.
The cholesterol screening requires a 12-hour fast for all participants and measures cholesterol, HDL, LDL triglycerides, and glucose levels. Please drink plenty of water and take any medications.
The American Heart Association recommends individuals 20 years of age or older have their cholesterol checked every five years and those with known risk factors need more frequent monitoring.
