Kyle Clayton drove in four runs, and West Central beat Routt 18-3 in softball Apr. 21 in Jacksonville.
The Cougars (1-7) scored three runs in the first inning and six in the inning. They added five runs in the fourth inning and two in both the third and fifth innings.
Myah Little reached base on an error to lead of the game, stole second and third bases and scored on a wild pitch. Paisley Sturtevant walked and eventually scored one a wild pitch.
Brylee Lawson walked and scored when Kylie Clayton singled as West Central jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Maci Peterson singled and drove in two runs and scored on a ground out in the second inning. Adrienne Kaufman drove in one run on a ground out.
Clayton doubled and drove in two runs in the third inning. Sturtevant doubled and drove in two runs in the fourth inning. Brylee Lawson scored on a passed ball, and Clayton drove in a one with a fielder’s choice ground out.
Lawson and Peterson both singled and drove in runs in the fifth inning.
Clayton went 2-for-3, scored two runs and drove in four runs to lead West Central. Sturtevant went 2-for-3, scored four runs and drove in two runs. Peterson went 2-for-3, scored two runs and drove in three runs.
Lawson went 1-for-2, scored three runs and drove in one run. Zela Walker went 1-for-2 and scored three runs. Little went 1-for-4 and scored three runs.
Hallee Lawson went 1-for-3 and scored one run. Adrienne Kaufmann drove in one run.
Hallee Lawson allowed two earned runs and three hits and gained the victory. She walked three batters and struck out seven.
