Greene County State’s Attorney Craig Grummel announced today that Granite Stockon has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following his conviction for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 Felony under Illinois law.
The conviction stems from an incident in which Stockon, a previously convicted felon, was found in possession of a firearm. Under Illinois law, individuals with prior felony convictions are prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
“This office takes seriously the responsibility to protect the people of Greene County,” said State’s Attorney Craig Grummel. “We hope this sentence not only holds the defendant accountable but also gives him the opportunity to reflect, reform, and return to society as a productive citizen upon his release.”
