The closure of the Joe Page Bridge originally set for Monday, May 5, to Saturday, May 17, has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, May 12, and is expected to remain closed until Saturday, May 24, at 5 p.m.
“In accommodating the needs of the businesses within the village of Hardin, the Bridge closure will now begin Monday, May 12, 2025, at 6:30 a.m., weather permitting. This closure is necessary to allow for essential structural repairs and expansion joint replacement. A marked detour route will be in place. The Bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by Saturday, May 24, at 5 p.m.,” the Illinois Department of Transportation said in a press release. “A detour using IL 100, IL 108, and Eldred-Hillview Road will be marked to guide motorists around the closure. In addition, an extra ferry will be available at Kampsville and Brussels to address significant queues at each location between the hours of 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the closure.”
