Jolene Fanning and Laura Green were named as the Calhoun County recipients of the Bob Price Scholarship.
The Bob Price Memorial Scholarship awarded eight $1000 scholarships to students in Calhoun, Carrollton, Jerseyville, Litchfield and Nokomis. The scholarship is in memory of Master Sergeant Bob Price and a way to continue his legacy of serving others by helping students fulfill their career dreams. Calhoun recipients are Laura Green and Jolene Fanning. Laura is attending Missouri State University to study wildlife conservation. She is the daughter of Chris and Kathleen Green. Jolene is attending Missouri State University to study social work. She is the daughter of Timothy Fanning and Jennifer Shirley. Carrollton recipient is Hannah Uhles. She is attending Quincy University to study forensic psychology. Hannah is the daughter of James and Amelia Uhles. Jerseyville recipient is Ethan Daniels. He is attending Lewis & Clark Community College to study fire science. Ethan is the son of Robert and Casey Daniels.
The scholarship is available annually to graduating high school seniors in the five counties of Illinois State Police District #18 (Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery)
In the past twelve years that the scholarship has been available, eighty eight scholarships have been awarded.
