One of the Christian congregations in Pittsfield has a new pastor for their flock. Paul Drake is the new president of the Pittsfield Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be shepherding members, friends and visitors attending from Pittsfield, Mt. Sterling, and other surrounding towns, even from Louisiana, Mo.
President Drake will be assisted by Richard Mudd in leading this growing church.
President Paul Drake (right) is retired after 35 years of service from the state of Illinois Department of Human Services, serving many years as an agency bureau chief and most recently as school administrator for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville. He continues to advocate for individuals with disabilities through state and local constituency groups.
Drake is a convert of 25 years to the Church and is married to Lynda Drake. They have four children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Richard Mudd (left) is a naturalist, an animal lover and is retired from Illinois Road Contractors (Meredosia Terminal) though he is still working hard. He has served in various leadership capacities in the church for 48 years.
He is married to Sherry Mudd. They have five children and five grandchildren.
