The small town of Fieldon is preparing to come alive with red, white, and blue spirit as it continues a cherished tradition: the annual Fieldon 4th of July Celebration. This year’s event, set for Friday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., promises a day packed with fun, food, and festivities for the whole family.
In a heartwarming show of community collaboration, Fieldon United Church of Christ and Crosspoint Church are partnering to host this year’s celebration for bringing together neighbors, friends, and visitors for a day designed to celebrate both America’s birthday and the strong community ties that define Fieldon.
The festivities kick off with a hometown parade and a moving flag-raising ceremony, setting a patriotic tone for the day. At 12:15 p.m., teens and adults can join in the excitement of an around-the-town scavenger hunt, sure to bring out some friendly competition and lots of laughs.
Starting at 1 p.m., the lawn will be buzzing with classic kids’ games, a cake walk, and plenty of ways for little ones to burn off energy. Traditional games like Plinko, bean bag toss, and putt-putt golf will be joined by a bounce house. These activities are guaranteed to keep smiles wide and feet bouncing.
Bingo lovers can head over to the pavilion at 2 p.m. to try their luck, while foodies will be thrilled with the offerings at the food booth. Starting at 11 a.m., you can grab a bite of crowd-pleasers like walking tacos, hot dogs, chips, and soda. And don’t miss the highlight of the culinary lineup, the beloved Fieldon UCC Fish Fry, famous in the area and kicking off at 3:30 p.m.
With something for everyone and a full schedule of activities, the Fieldon 4th of July Celebration is more than just a holiday event—it’s a time-honored tradition that brings the community together in the best way possible: through joy, togetherness, and a shared love for this little corner of the country we all call home. Festivities end in time to head to Jerseyville to enjoy a spectacular firework display.
So bring the family, invite your friends, and come celebrate in true Fieldon style; where memories are made, and the spirit of community shines bright.
