July it is~ a fresh picked tomato, Calhoun peach or that watermelon so ripe, juice just runs down your arm! Yum, yum! Hope you get ya some!
A busy weekend coming up with The Ol’ Independence Day this Friday! Parade, contests, food, fun and games and then the awesome Fireworks display! They are still taking parade registrations for our 4th of July. The theme is “Red Hot Days and Star Spangled Nights” Contact Dana Collard at 573-754-2409 or Jennifer Guthrie at 217-617-7816. Please come join in on the fun for all filled day! And don’t forget to donate to continue the annual 4th activities, this is vital to carry on! Happy 4th of July, treasure the value of our freedom!
Come take a big splash at the town pool, it is open daily 1-5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-8p.m. And this Friday, it will be a free swim from 1-3p.m, as they offer this every year on the 4th! So thankful we have a pool for summer enjoyment and has been for so many years! Can follow on their Facebook page “Friends of Pleasant Hill pool”, and manager Tina Jones often puts up pictures of the day. Kudos to Tina and the guards!
Deepest sympathy to Mrs. Patsy Long family, such a dear soul, who often was the giver and may she rest in peace.
“Freedom has it’s life in the hearts, the action, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed-else like a flower from life-giving roots, it will wither and die.”
– Dwight D Eisenhower
