Senator Jil Tracy announced her re-election campaign last week for the Illinois Senate.
In the announcement, Senator Tracy said she will remain focused on faith, family and fiscal responsibility for the twelve counties she serves in the 50th Senate District. She also criticized Governor J.B. Pritzker’s budgeting and higher taxes that continue to burden the hardworking families in Southern Illinois.
“I am running for re-election to be a voice for the hardworking families of Illinois who feel unheard in Springfield,” Senator Tracy said in the announcement. “Under Governor Pritzker, we’ve seen reckless budgets, higher taxes, and a sanctuary state agenda that puts a huge burden on our taxpayers. I will continue to fight against these irresponsible policies – blocking any new tax hikes, opposing unlawful sanctuary measures, and protecting our families’ values and freedoms from big-government overreach.”
The full press release for Senator Tracy’s re-election campaign reads:
“Illinois State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) today announced she is running for re-election to the Illinois Senate in the 50th District. Tracy, who serves as the Senate Republican Whip, says she is seeking another term to continue fighting Governor J.B. Pritzker’s tax-and-spend fiscal policies and to stand up for Illinois families against government overreach and burdensome mandates.
“I am running for re-election to be a voice for the hardworking families of Illinois who feel unheard in Springfield,” Senator Tracy said.
A staunch defender of law and order, Tracy has also led the fight against Illinois’ sanctuary state policies that she believes jeopardize public safety and drain taxpayer resources. She blasted Gov. Pritzker for signing laws that “dramatically limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, even in cases involving violent criminals” and for creating costly new programs to provide free benefits – such as state-funded healthcare – to undocumented immigrants.
“Our communities should not be forced to shoulder billions in costs for the Governor’s sanctuary policies while he ties the hands of law enforcement,” Tracy said, noting that Illinois taxpayers are paying the price for these mandates.
Throughout her public service, Senator Tracy has championed the conservative principles of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and individual liberty. In the legislature, she has focused on spurring economic growth, restoring fiscal stability, and enacting job-creating reforms to get Illinois back on track. She vows to continue being a check and balance on the Pritzker administration’s power, and to protect Illinois families’ rights, wallets, and way of life.
The 50th Senate District includes all or portions of twelve counties in west-central Illinois: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, and Scott. She and her husband, Jim, reside in Quincy, and together they have four grown children and ten grandchildren. In Springfield, Tracy says her priorities will remain “faith, family, and fiscal responsibility” as she seeks to continue delivering responsible leadership for the 50th District.”
