Greene County State’s Attorney Craig Grummel announced Monday that Anthony G. Talley, 36, of White Hall, Illinois, has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, in Greene County case number 24-CF-91.
Talley entered a guilty plea on June 30, 2025, before Judge Zachary Schmidt. He admitted to knowingly possessing less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine on or about July 13, 2024. Talley received credit for time served from May 23, 2025, to May 27, 2025. The five-year sentence will run concurrent with his existing sentence in Greene County case number 22-CF-50.
“Methamphetamine continues to plague our rural communities,” said State’s Attorney Craig Grummel. “This dangerous and highly addictive drug leads to a wide range of criminal behavior and destroys families. My office will continue to aggressively prosecute those who choose to possess and distribute methamphetamine in Greene County.”
State’s Attorney Grummel commended the White Hall Police Department for its diligent work and thorough investigation that led to Talley’s conviction.
