Greene County State’s Attorney Craig M. Grummel announced that felony charges have been filed against two individuals in connection with a recent string of burglaries and property damage that has occurred in Carrollton.
Tyler M. Buckingham, 23, of Woodriver and Brody P. Winters, 18, of Carrollton, have each been charged with multiple felony offenses, including Burglary, a Class 2 Felony; Theft, a Class 3 Felony and Criminal Damage to Property, a Class 4 Felony.
These charges stem from incidents that occurred on or around June 12 involving unlawful entries and thefts at Shade Financial Services and BJC Hospice, located on the Carrollton Square and a private residence in Carrollton, with property damage reported in excess of $500 in multiple locations.
Both defendants have been taken into custody. The charges are the result of an ongoing investigation led by the Carrollton Police Department. Members of the public who have additional information to assist with the investigation are encouraged to contact the Carrollton Police Department at 217-942-3135.
“These incidents represent serious intrusions into businesses and residents in our community,” Grummel said. “My office takes these offenses seriously and will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure accountability.”
As in all criminal cases, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
