The fair is drawing near with a few changes

By Steven Spencer

It’s nearly time for the 2025 Calhoun County Fair and this year’s theme is “Harvesting Two Centuries of Stories, A Bicentennial Celebration.”
The fair starts on September 4 this year and it’s time to start preparing.
Those interested in registering for the talent show, the parade, vendor booths, showcasing in the K-Mar Building or to compete in the fair queen pageant can all do so now.
This year the fair will be having an online parking spot auction.
“Planning to attend the crowd-favorite Tractor and Truck Pull or the high-octane Demolition Derby at this year’s Calhoun County Fair! Don’t miss your chance to snag a prime parking space close to all the action — now available through our online parking spot auction,” the fair board said. “For three of the fair’s biggest events, we’re auctioning off reserved parking spaces just steps from the arenas. Avoid the hunt for a spot for premium seating — arrive stress-free and ready for the roar of engines and flying mud.”
The online auction ends on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. and those interested can bid at

for the closest parking spots with proceeds going to support the fairgrounds and various events.
Those interested in registering for different events can visit calhounfair.net or facebook.com/CalhounCountyFairIL.
