A group of children gather to admire the sheep that were part of the rodeo at the 2024 Bluffs Community Picnic. This year’s picnic – which takes place Saturday, August 16 – will again feature a kids rodeo, pony rides, and many more family-friendly activities.
The 2025 Bluffs Community Picnic and Burgoo, themed “From the kettle to the community,” will take place on Saturday, August 16, at Lewis Park in Bluffs.
The annual picnic features a day full of family-friendly entertainment and activities.
This year’s event activities include laser tag, chicken bingo, wobble wagon barrel train, kids rodeo, pony rides, a talent show, and evening entertainment.
The day starts off bright and early at 6 a.m. with burgoo kettle service.
The parade will commence at 10:00 a.m., which will be followed by a welcome speech from 2024 Miss Bluffs – as well as Little Mister and Miss pageant contestant introductions.
Bowl service for burgoo will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion building.
Other mid-day activities include the introduction of visiting royalty at 11:30 a.m., followed by a live performance by Jukebox Reloaded from 12-1 p.m. Following the lunchtime concert will be the introductions of Junior Miss and Miss Bluffs pageant contestants at 1:15 p.m.

Attendees at the 2024 Bluffs Community Picnic participated in a popular carnival game. This year’s picnic will take place Saturday, August 16, and it will again feature a day full of games, activities, entertainment, and vendors.
A talent show will take place from 2-3 p.m. Following the talent show, will be the crowning of pageant winners.
Little Miss and Little Mister Bluffs will be crowned at 3 p.m. Junior Miss and Miss Bluffs pageant winners will be crowned at 4:30 p.m.
The evening will feature a slate of live music – starting with opening act Stompin’ Ground at 5 p.m. Headlining act Exit 52 will perform from 7-9 p.m.
An assortment of food and drink vendors will be set up during the Bluffs Picnic – including J&D Rolling Smoke, kettle corn, shaved ice, mocktails, and fried fish.
Wristbands for activities will be available for $5.00.
