River County News consolidating papers into one publication

By Steven Spencer

Better Newspapers, Inc. and River County News is announcing that we will be undergoing a rebrand as we consolidate our five weekly papers into one weekly publication.
The Calhoun News-Herald, Jersey County Journal, Greene Prairie Press, Pike Press and Scott County Times will be combined into one larger weekly newspaper titled River County News.
Although the five papers will be printed as one publication, there will be no change in coverage for each county.
Readers can expect to see more regional content as our reporters continue to focus on local news coverage for Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Pike and Scott counties each week as we provide a bigger and better newspaper.
Once the transition is complete, we will also use the opportunity to enhance our online presence, making content more timely and accessible for our readers at www.rivercountynews.com.
The community can continue to send their news submissions and photos to the same emails that have been used [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].
Those with advertising inquiries can continue to email [email protected]. Pubic/legal notice inquiries can continue to be sent to the email [email protected] and those needing assistance publishing obituaries can contact [email protected].
Those needing to correspond via mail can continue to contact our office at 832 South State Street in Jerseyville, or via phone at 618-498-1234.
Current subscribers will begin to receive their first issue of the River County News the second week of September.
