Three pitchers combined for a no-hitter as West Central beat Payson 12-2 in junior high baseball Aug. 13 at Bluffs.
Payson led 1-0 before West Central (1-0) scored five runs in the fifth inning. They added seven more runs in the sixth inning.
Jace Fryman walked to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning. Brock Fuhler followed with a home run to five the Cougars the lead.
Hudson Little scored on a wild pitch, and Maysin Alexander scored on an error. Colby Pratt scored on a single by Jordy Ray, and West Central led 5-1.
Conner Springer scored on a passes ball in the sixth inning, and Little stole home. Pratt singled to drive in another run. Maddox Chapman and Fryman both singled and drove in two runs in the inning.
Fuhler pitched the first four innings for West Central and struck out nine batters. Pratt pitched one and two-thirds inning and struck out three batters. Ray struck out one batter.
Ray went 2-fo-4, scored one run and had two stolen bases for the winners.
Fuhler went 1-for-3 with a home, scored one run and drove in two runs. Little went 1-for-2, scored two runs and stole four bases.
Fryman went 1-for=3, scored one run and drove in two runs. Pratt went 1-for-3, scored one run and drove in one run.
Chapman had one hit and drove in two runs. Alexander scored two runs and stole three bases.Springer and Brycen Bloxam each scored one run. Easton Van Tuyle went 1-for-4.
