Camp Point defeated West Central 50-8 in the first week of the 2025 football season.
Camp Point Central scored on a 17-yard run on its first possession of the game. They added the conversion and led 8-0. Camp Point Central converted a fourth-and-12 during the possession.
West Central forced the Panthers to punt on its second possession. The Cougars, however, turned the ball over on a fumble as Camp Point regained possession.
The Panthers scored on a 14-yard run. They added the conversion and led 16-0.
Camp Point Central scored twice on two yard runs in the second quarter and led 30-0 at halftime. They scored on runs of two yards and 39 yards and scored on a 38-yard fumble return and increased the lead to 50-0 after three quarters.
Ryker Ford scored on a 46-yard run with 11:42 remaining in the game for West Central’s touchdown. Eli Crain ran for the conversion.
Camp Point Central, who is ranked No. 2 in the state, had 243 yards rushing on 36 attempts. They passed for 46 yards and finished with 14 first downs.
The Cougars gained 77 yards rushing on 27 attempts. They did not complete a pass. West Central had two first downs.
Ford rushed for 37 yards on 12 attempts. Crain rushed for 28 yards on five attempts, and Anthony Hance rushed for 11 yards on three attempts.
Crain finished with seven tackles, including three for losses, to lead the defense. Jeffrey McIntire and Lane Clayton both had six tackles.
