West Central scored 42 points in the first quarter and beat North Greene 62-0 in football Sept. 13 at White Hall.
The Cougars (2-1, 1-0 WIVC South) will play Friday at Carrollton at 7 p.m. The Hawks (1-2, 1-0) beat Greenfield-Northwestern 13-7 last week.
Anthony Hance returned the opening kickoff 78 yards for the first score of the game. Ryker Ford ran for the conversion, and the Cougars led 8-0.
Dallas Surratt, Carter Edlen and Ford all intercepted passes that led to the next three touchdowns.
Tucker Arnold capped off a three play drive with a 15-yard run. Ford ran for the conversion.
Eli Crain scored on a six-yard run with 637 remaining in the quarter and scored on another six-yard run with 2:54 remaining. Hance and Arnold both ran for conversions as the lead grew to 32-0.
Andrew Coker tackled the North Greene quarterback in the end zone and extended the lead to 34-0.
Crain scored on a 75-yard run for West Central’s fifth touchdown of the quarter. Cooper Eddinger ran for the conversion, and the Cougars led 42-0 after one quarter.
Surratt scored on a 31-yard run, and Tristin Miller scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. Hance ran for a conversion, and the Cougars led 56-0 at halftime.
Ford scored on a five-yard run in the fourth quarter.
West Central’s defense held North Greene to minus 26 yards of offense in the game.
North Greene had minus 28 yards rushing on 29 attempts and completed one pass for two yards. They had one first down and got that with 3:35 remaining when West Central committed a face mask penalty.
The Cougars had 290 yards rushing on 25 attempts and did not attempt a pass. They had 11 first downs.
Crain rushed for 105 yards on just six attempts. Surratt rushed for 81 yards on five attempts, and Ford rushed for 50 yards on six attempts. Hance rushed for 22 yards on two attempts. Miller rushed for 17 yards on five attempts, and Arnold rushed for 15 yards on one attempt.
Edlen had 10 tackles, including three for losses, and intercepted a pass for the Cougars’ defense. Luke Kunz had nine tackles, including two for losses. John Marshall had nine tackles.
Ryker Ford had six tackles and intercepted a pass. Coker had six tackles, included two for losses.
