When Jane Bradshaw, a Pittsfield High School senior, stepped onto the stage at the Photography Business Institute’s International Conference last Tuesday, she faced a crowd of more than 175 photographers from across the globe. By the time she finished speaking, the entire room was on its feet.
Bradshaw has been legally blind since she was 11 years-old. She still manages to participate in her classes at Pittsfield High School and also enjoys several extracurriculars.
“After meeting Jane when we created her senior portraits, I knew that she was something special,” Sarah Petty, founder of Sarah Petty Photography and the Photography Business Institute, said. “That’s why I invited her to be the opening speaker at our two-day event. She left every single person in that theater inspired.”
“If the sun is shining, it’s automatically a good day,” Bradshaw told the audience. “And if it’s rainy, you must find another reason to be happy.”
Bradshaw is the daughter of Tara Bradshaw of Pittsfield and Eric Bradshaw of Griggsville. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Karen Puckett of Pittsfield, Carole Bradshaw and the late Fred Bradshaw of Griggsville.
