The Village of Fieldon gathered over the weekend to honor and recognize former mayor Betty Duggan. Community members and family members celebrated Duggan’s decades of loyal, resilient and dedicated service to residents of Fieldon during her time as mayor from 1981-2021 and announced that June 25 will officially be recognized as Betty Duggan Day in the Village of Fieldon.
Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer said Duggan deserved every bit of recognition and has been an inspiration to many people throughout the years.
“This is more than deserved,” Davidsmeyer said. “I want to thank you for all the years that you stepped up and did what was right for your town. You are certainly a shining example for those of us that are coming behind you.”
