A Greene County woman will be spending the next five years in the Department of Corrections on a burglary charge that dates all the way back to 2022.
Christina M. Carraway, 37, entered a guilty plea on Nov. 14 in Greene County Circuit Court on a count of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony.
The case was prosecuted by Special Prosecutor Michael Havera and sentencing was imposed by Judge Allison Lorton.
The conviction stems from an incident that occurred on July 18, 2022 in Carrollton, where Carraway knowingly and without authority remained inside a residence with the intent to commit a theft.
Greene County State’s Attorney emphasized the seriousness of the offense and highlighted the significant sentence imposed.
“Residential burglary is a violent intrusion into the safety and privacy of people’s homes,” he said. “A five-year sentence reflects the severity of this crime and our commitment to holding offenders fully accountable.”
Grummel extended his appreciation to the Carrollton Police Department for their thorough investigation and professional response. He also thanked Special Prosecutor Michael Havara for his work in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.
